The Forty Club - sometimes known as the XL Club - would like to expand their membership with players who currently play in teams within the Bassetlaw Cricket League. Open to players aged 40 or over, the club aims to demonstrate the traditions of the game that we all love so dearly. Playing competitively, but with the right spirit, in the hope that their enthusiasm and example will make an impression on the teams they play. They play over 220 friendly matches a season, mainly against school and youth sides the length and breadth of the country including good quality schools in our area, e.g. Worksop College, Nottingham High School, Repton College (new in 2011), Oakham as well as the Bassetlaw under 17s side, this year played at Edwinstowe CC.
They have a national website at www.thefortyclub.co.uk and a regional website on play-cricket at www.xlclubemidlands.play-cricket.com where you can see what they are, what they do, and how to join.
